The sound in Brutal has been reduced to the bare minimum. Unfortunately, the foregrounds that hinder game play by blocking the view of both your character and your opponent remain in the game version. The fighters respond much more quickly than before, which is good news for combo jockeys! Zoom! In addition, Cametek has tweaked the controls for the game. The original Sega CD version seemed to move in slow motion, but that problem has been eliminated. The most apparent change is the vast increase in speed. You can select from one of seven warriors, each with their own unique fighting style.Īlthough the game version lacks one of the original characters and some opening and interim animation (including the goofy outtakes) that appeared on the CD, the Gene sis game has undergone some changes that have improved the overall game play.

Originally released on the Sega CD, Brutal takes members of the animal kingdom and matches them tooth and claw against one another for some tournament fighting. Genesis owners with fur on the brain would be remiss if they skipped over Brutal, a rip-roarin' beast-versus-beast fighting game by Gametek.
